La bicicleta de Selva (セルバの自転車)
いいお話だったので一寸だけ紹介。急にスペイン語で本が読みたくなりネットで色々探したところ、スペイン語の (主に子供向けの) 本を取り扱う「ミフラン洋書店」で本書はお勧めの一つに挙がっていた。第1回マラガ市児童文学賞受賞作だそうな。内容や文体は『ルドルフとイッパイアッテナ』と同じ年代の子供 (たぶん小学校の低中学年) 向けで、70ページ程度の小冊子。全てのページに描かれるイラストが美しい。
セルバは何処か遠い砂漠の国から来た女の子。他の子供達とは違い、彼女の自転車は古く錆びてギシギシするが、特別である。セルバは言う「古いものの方が歴史があるから美しいのよ。」この自転車でセルバのお爺さんは戦争を逃れ、国境を超え、村に薬や手紙を運び、後のセルバのお婆さんとデートした。子供たちにとってそんなセルバと彼女の自転車は特別だった。語り手は60年前のセルバとの交流をつい昨日のことのように思い出し、孫 (たぶん) に語って聴かせる。シンプルで味わい深い本である。
著者の Mónica Rodríguez は物理学畑の人で、児童文学を他にも書いているようなのでもう少し漁ってみたい。実のところスペイン語の本を読むのは此れが初めてであり、辞書を引きつつ読んだのだが理解の程度は怪しい。
